Hello First Step Families,
As we are in the midst of the holiday season, we have a few important updates and requests regarding our Winter Intensives and upcoming scheduling. Please read these updates in full.
❄️ Upcoming Winter Intensive:
Dec 15 – Jan 2
Intensive Scheduling & Regular Appointments
Please note that Winter Intensives will conflict with some regularly scheduled weekly appointments during these dates.
If our intensive overlaps with your child’s usual appointment time, your therapist will discuss this with you at your upcoming session. They will then guide you to the front office so we can assist with canceling or rescheduling appointments as we are able for the affected weeks.
Therapist Intensive Schedules (based on availability, and depending on your child’s needs) :
Emily is offering DMI 1-week intensives, available in 1-2 hour sessions.
Allison is offering 1-week or multi-week intensives, available in 1–3 hour sessions.
Spots are limited and filled on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are interested, please submit an application (below).

✈️ Out-of-Town Dates & Scheduling
We kindly ask that you notify us of any dates you will be out of town or unable to attend appointments. Early notice allows us to manage our therapists’ schedules effectively and offer any open sessions to families on our waitlist.
📌 Cancellation & Hold Policy Reminder
Patients with a weekly recurring appointment will lose their reserved time slot if they cancel four or more consecutive weeks, unless they choose to retain the slot by paying a hold fee of $50 per missed session, beginning with the 4th consecutive absence.
We do not offer a hold option for absences longer than 12 consecutive weeks.
